First Edition Identifiers
Burroughs Inc. first published this book on 9/7/1935 and it clearly states “First Edition” on the copyright page. As the photo shows, the book cover is blue and lettered in red. There are 4 illustrations by J. Allen St. John, who also illustrated the dust jacket. The dust jacket came in two varieties, laminated and unlaminated.
Burroughs, Inc. reprinted this book again in 1940 and 1948. The 1940 book cover is red and has blue lettering. The 1948 printings have tan covers with blue lettering.

Above is the laminated first edition dust jacket graded in About Very Good Plus condition with damp stains along the bottom half, some fading and small tears.
